Q. What are the Cemetery’s hours?
A. The Cemetery’s regular hours are from from 9 am until 4 pm Monday through Saturday.  See the Cemetery Reopening section of this website for hours during the re-opening week.

Q.  When will Burr Oak reopen?
A.  Burr Oak Cemetery will re-open to the public on November 19, 2009.  Please see the Cemetery Reopening section of this website for more information. 

Q.  Is Burr Oak conducting burials?
A.  Yes, Burr Oak has resumed burials. 

Q.  I paid for a headstone before the filing of the bankruptcy Cases but it has not been delivered.  Will I get this headstone?
A.  The Debtor has obtained Bankruptcy Court approval to purchase the headstones which were paid for before the filing of the bankruptcy Cases.

Q. Is Burr Oak Cemetery honoring pre-need contracts?
A.  Yes. The Cemetery is honoring pre-need contracts.  A large part of the money paid on the pre-need contract is held in a trust fund which is regularly audited by the Office of the Illinois Comptroller.

Q. I am making payments on a pre-need contract.  Should I continue to make these payments?
A.  Yes, you should continue to make these payments.  Most of the pre-need funds are held in a trust account for your protection.

Q.  I paid for a deeded lot but do not have the deed.  How do I get it?
A.  Deeds from Burr Oak must be picked up in person at the Cemetery.  Please call the Cemetery and make arrangements to pick up your deed.   Please bring proper identification for presentation to the staff member delivering the deed.

Q.  Will Burr Oak or Cedar Park make refunds on deeded property if a person no longer wants to be buried there?
A.  Yes. The refund policy on deeded property at Burr Oak and Cedar Park is that deeded lots will be re-purchased for $50 per lot.
